High View Vineyards sits atop 40 acres within the El Dorado and Sierra Foothills appellations near Placerville, California. It overlooks the North Fork of the Cosumnes River Canyon at approximately 2100 feet elevation. A gentle westward facing slope along natural rolling contours provides full sun exposure and near constant air movement. Well drained soil rich in decomposed granite and warm temperatures combine for an advantageous environment for growing our premium winegrapes.

The vines, Syrah 877 on 1103p rootstock, are supported with 5' x 8' VSP trellising, watered by drip irrigation, and cane pruned. An on-property computerized weather station monitors rainfall, humidity and temperature. Soil moisture is monitored weekly throughout the growing season, and the vineyard is professionally managed year-round.
